Danny serves as the Chair of the Bear Lake Education Foundation, bringing over a decade of experience as a communication consultant and leader. In his current role as Manager of Culture & Engagement at Allstate, Danny is responsible for developing and implementing strategic programs within the Law & Regulation department. His expertise in strategic communication, employee engagement, and cross-functional leadership has been honed through various influential roles, including leading communication efforts for Allstate's compliance and ethics programs. A graduate of Idaho State University, Danny is passionate about fostering academic excellence in the Bear Lake School District. He lives in Bennington with his husband, Nic, and their three dogs.
Monique serves as the Vice Chair of the Bear Lake Education Foundation and is entering her fourth year on the Board. She worked in the Mountain View, WY school district for seven years, spending three years as a paraeducator with middle school students. A 1989 graduate of Bear Lake High School, Monique was inspired by her father, Bernard Sparks, who worked at BLHS for 29 years and instilled in her a deep appreciation for education. Having returned to Bear Lake five years ago with her husband Ron, Monique loves the peace and beauty of the area and enjoys spending time at the lake and in the mountains when her children visit. She is committed to increasing BLEF’s visibility within the community and among alumni to expand resources for students and staff. Her vision includes finding ways to better recognize teachers for their invaluable contributions, knowing that when educators feel supported, the entire school district thrives.
Tabetha serves as the Secretary of the Bear Lake Education Foundation and the teacher representative for Bear Lake High School. A Bear Lake native, Tabetha graduated from BLHS in 1993 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English from Idaho State University, followed by a Master of Arts in English from the University of Idaho. Before returning to Bear Lake in 2010 to teach at BLHS, she spent a decade teaching college English, primarily at San Diego State University. Now in her 25th year as an educator, Tabetha’s commitment to fostering educational excellence is stronger than ever. Her passion for education is reflected in her long-standing involvement with BLEF, where she has contributed significantly to initiatives that provide students and teachers with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Tabetha’s dedication to her students and her community exemplifies her belief that every student in Bear Lake deserves access to a high-quality education.
Mauria serves as the Treasurer of the Bear Lake Education Foundation and has been a dedicated member of the Board of Directors since 2004. A Bear Lake High School graduate, Mauria earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Idaho—Go Vandals! She began her career as a medical billing specialist in Moscow and Boise, before returning to Bear Lake 20 years ago to work alongside her father, Gary Teuscher, in his CPA firm. Mauria brings valuable financial expertise to the foundation, managing taxes, payrolls, and bookkeeping. Her involvement with BLEF was inspired by her father’s legacy, and she is committed to ensuring that the foundation’s funds are used effectively to support students and teachers. Mauria is passionate about her community and takes great pride in the positive impact BLEF projects and teacher grants have on local schools, reinforcing her belief in fostering educational excellence throughout the district.
Shannon is the Executive Director of the Bear Lake Education Foundation, where she plays a pivotal role in overseeing fundraising initiatives and collaborating with the Bear Lake School District to develop and promote new educational projects. With a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Idaho State University, Shannon is a creative thinker and problem solver with a strong background in technology, writing, and content creation. She has a love for education and the Bear Lake community where she grew up. She uses her skills in grant writing to help bring in resources to further the educational opportunities here in the Bear Lake School District. After living in large cities for several years, she along with her husband and two daughters enjoy the slow pace and rural atmosphere of her hometown.
